Office Partitioning Walls – Installed Across Hampshire & Dorset
Office partitioning walls are one of the most practical ways to divide a commercial workspace, whether you need a private meeting room, a quieter area for focused work, or simply want to make better use of your floor space. They help you create a private meeting room or a quiet area for work. It is a cost effective way to make better use of your floor space and it changes how the building works for your team.
Wessex Interiors has been installing these systems for over 20 years. We are based in Southampton and work right across Portsmouth and the surrounding areas. We have seen all kinds of spaces. We have worked in small offices in central Southampton and big industrial warehouses in Portsmouth. Whatever your building looks like, we have probably done a similar job before.

What are office partitioning walls
These are purpose built walls that split a large room into separate areas. You do not need to do permanent construction like knocking through bricks. They are installed with very little disruption to your day and you can often move them if your needs change later.
The right choice depends on how much privacy you need and what your budget is. We make sure every installation meets local building regulations and fire safety standards. Some systems are for sound proofing and others are just to create a visual break in the room.
Types of office partitioning walls we install
Glass partitions are a good choice if you want to keep the light in the room. They look modern and you can add frosted film if you need more privacy for meetings. It keeps the office feeling open but still gives you a quiet space to talk. These systems can provide good sound insulation to stop noise traveling between rooms.
Steel partitioning is better for industrial areas or warehouses in Portsmouth. It is very strong and comes in different heights. We often use this in cleanrooms because it is durable and easy to clean. It is a tough option for busy environments where the walls might get knocked by machinery or stock.
Stud and track partitioning looks like a permanent wall as it is built with a frame and finished with plasterboard. It is cheaper than traditional building work but it still feels solid and you can paint it to match your other walls. We can include acoustic insulation inside the frame to hit specific db ratings for sound privacy.
Jumbo stud partitioning is for very tall spaces. We use this in big warehouses where a normal wall would be too short. It is built on the same principle as the standard version but it is much taller and stronger. These are often built as fire rated walls to help with safety in large buildings.
Relocatable partitioning is for businesses that might move. You can take these walls down and put them up somewhere else without damaging the building. This is helpful if you are in a rented office in Southampton and cannot make permanent changes.

Common questions about office partitioning walls
How much does it cost to install partitioning? The price depends on the materials you choose and the size of your space. A basic stud and track wall is usually the cheapest option. Glass partitioning costs more but it looks better and lets in light. We give a clear quote after a site survey so you know the exact cost before we start.
Is there a lot of mess during installation? No. We do most of the cutting off site or in a designated area to keep dust down. It is much cleaner than traditional building work and we always tidy up at the end of the day. We know you have a business to run in Southampton or Portsmouth so we try to stay out of your way.
Do I need planning permission for these walls? Usually you do not need planning permission because the walls are internal and not permanent. But you do need to follow building regulations for things like fire safety and emergency exits. We can check this for you during the design stage to make sure everything is legal and safe.
How long does the job take to finish? Most small to medium projects in Hampshire and Dorset are finished in a day or two. Larger warehouse jobs in Portsmouth might take a bit longer if we are installing jumbo stud walls. We will give you a specific timeline before we begin the work.
Can you soundproof a meeting room? Yes. We can use acoustic glass or add sound insulating material inside stud walls to reach specific db ratings. It will not be 100% soundproof but it will make the room private enough for sensitive meetings or quiet work.
What happens if I move to a new office? If you choose our relocatable partitioning then we can take the walls down for you. You can move them to your new building in Southampton or store them for later. It is a good way to save money if you are on a short lease.
Do you offer fire rated partitioning? Yes. We install walls that meet specific fire safety standards for both offices and warehouses. This is often a requirement for insurance or building control. We can explain which fire ratings you need for your specific layout.
